Public Insurance Adjusters

The existence of public insurance adjusters is not widely known. Typically when a claimant submits a claim to their insurance company an adjuster is assigned from within the company. They have to be careful not to violate the claimant's rights under Federal and State privacy laws but ultimately they are working for the insurance company.

A public insurance adjuster is a third party hired by the claimant to oversee the gathering of evidence and interviewing of witnesses and other such activities to be sure that a claim will be paid fairly. They do the same job as the adjuster for the insurance company but since you hire them they keep your needs uppermost in their minds.

The majority of claimants that hire their own adjuster are those that need a fast turnaround on their claim. Large corporations might be able to wait for the company and their assigned adjuster but individuals and small businesses need to recover from a disaster or accident quickly. Insurance adjusters that work for the company can oftentimes be slow or unwilling to move forward in a timely manner.
